The 4th European Union-African Union Summit took place in Brussels, Belgium on 2-3 April 2014. It brought together African leaders and 60 EU leaders, a total of 90 delegations, as well as the leaders of EU and African Union institutions. Discussions at the summit focused on the theme “Investing in People, Prosperity and Peace”. Topics discussed include respect for human rights, rule of law & good governance, right to development, education and training, women and youth, legal and illegal migrant flows between both continents, ways to stimulate growth and create jobs, investing in peace and ways to enhance EU support for African capacities to manage security on the continent.
