DZIQ 990 AM– The President of China Xi Jinping & his wife wrapped up their 3-day state visit to the Kingdom of Belgium by visiting the Volvo plant in Ghent accompanied by King Filip, Queen Mathilde, Prime Minister Elio di Rupo & other high ranking government & business officials of Belgium. In Ghent, Chinese President met with Chinese workers and engineers and inaugurated the 300,000th car that was produced for the Chinese market, the Volvo XC60. Then they made a short tour to the spinning mill, signed a visitor’s book and give flowers for the women and a model car for the men. After a visit of more than half an hour in Volvo Gent, Chinese President, his wife and the royal couple then drove to Bruges, where he opened the session at the College of Europe. “China and the European Union is one of the most important bilateral relationships in the world, and there is still a lot of potential”, the president said. “But before that, we need to get to know each other better, and history is the key to the future.”

The president invited everyone, including students from the College of Europe, to get to know China better. After his speech, a large delegation went to the Provincial Court of Bruges where the President and his wife received some gifts and signed the Golden Book of the province of Flanders and the city of Bruges. Then, they were offered a lunch with the King and Queen, the Prime Minister and some business leaders.

– Meanwhile, the consumer organization Test-Buy said that the coloring of candies must be tightly controlled. But there is a more particular problem in the coloring used to decorate cupcakes. The half of the tested decoration contained Southampton substances, which would have an effect on hyperactive behavior of children. Test-Buy are asking manufacturers to clearly indicate the amount and the name of the coloring substances used.

That’s all for today, I’ll see you again on Friday. Take care everyone!
