DZIQ 990 AM– Doctors removed a 36-kilo stomach tumor of a 47-year old woman in Czech Republic. The risky, 7-hour operation took place at Tomas Bata Regional Hospital in Zlin. The tumor had a length of over one meter. Due to the weight of the tumor, she was bedridden for many years. The operation was a big success and the woman could lead now a normal life.

– What is CTS, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome? It is a median entrapment neuropathy that causes paresthesia, pain, numbness, and other symptoms in the distribution of the median nerve due to its compression at the wrist in the carpal tunnel. It appears to be caused by a combination of genetic and environmental factors. We discussed symptoms, causes and relief.

– The Filipino Chaplaincy in Brussels headed by Fr. Raymund Gaspar in cooperation of Knights and Ladies for Rizal Brussels Chapter (Kababaihang Rizalista, Inc.) will be sending 15 boxes of donations to Super Typhoon Haiyan (Yolanda) victims in Tacloban, Philippines. The boxes will be sent directly to Msgr. Bernardo Pantin (Vicar General, Archdiocese of Palo, Leyte)  to be assisted by Fr. Virgilio Murillo, Jr of the Virgin De La Candelaria Mission Station in Barangay Bagacay, Tacloban City. The Filipinos in Belgium will continue to help the rehabilitation process of our fellow countrymen, our beloved kababayan.

– Sincerest condolences to Lady Alily Manlangit-Rutor, officer of Las Damas De Rizal Belgium and son KC for the death of husband & father Sir Elvy Rutor, a Knight of Rizal, Brussels Chapter. Final viewing at funerarium, rue Gustave Biot 30, 1050 Ixelles on Friday, January 10, from 3-7 p.m. Funeral service on Saturday, January 11 at St Remy church, Boulevard du Jubilée, 1000 Molenbeek St Jean. Mass at 9 a.m., followed by necrological service of KOR. Interment 10.30 a.m. at Ixelles cemetery. 12.oo: koffietafel (light snack) at Le Fanal, rue Joseph Stallaert 6, 1050 Ixelles.
