– Belgian members of Parliament David Geerts and Karin Temmerman (Socialist Party) filed a proposed bill for the abolition of the bicycle surcharge of five euros for a single journey. In the House, they will ask Minister of Public Enterprises Jean-Pascal Labille to take concrete steps.

According to Geerts and Temmerman, the bike is a convenient alternative to travel between home and the station or the station and work. This will also encourage more people including tourists to bring and use their bikes instead of cars.
